Privacy Policy
The Northwest Institute on Intimacy ("NWIOI", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the public forms on this site, including the inquiry, network, lecturer, and course-submission forms.
Information we collect
When you submit a form, we collect the information you provide — which may include your name, pronouns, email address, phone number, professional credentials, organization, location, areas of interest, uploaded links to a CV or headshot, and any free-text notes you choose to share. We also store technical metadata such as the date and time of submission and a coarse identifier of the request (used only for spam protection).
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry, application, or proposal.
- To match you with the appropriate program, supervisor, or faculty contact at NWIOI.
- To send you the communications you've explicitly opted in to — for example, our newsletter — and to send transactional emails related to your request (such as confirmations and follow-ups).
- To improve our programs, materials, and operations.
Newsletter & marketing
We only add you to our newsletter list if you check the opt-in box on a form. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, or by emailing us at support@nwioi.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect transactional emails about an inquiry or application you've already submitted.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers we rely on to operate this site — for example, our database host, our email provider, and our newsletter platform. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data confidentially. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our students, faculty, and community.
Retention
We keep submission data for as long as needed to support the relationship you initiated — for example, the lifecycle of your program enrollment or your time on our faculty network — and as required for legal, accounting, or accreditation recordkeeping. You may request deletion at any time, subject to those limits.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email support@nwioi.com from the address you used on the form. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and authentication to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Children
Our programs and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through this website.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
